Choosing the Right Fly Patterns for Different Seasons

Now everyone is very different especially when it comes to what fly pattern to use.

Entomology is not high on this list for me especially early season.

This post will be early season patterns to try.

If going after Brown trout consider using March Brown, Black Pennell Hare’s Ear, Kate McLaren, Bibio, Invicta and the once banned in many places the Alexandra.

If it’s Rainbows then I would try Blobs especially the Tequila Blob, Cats, and Yellow Dancer.  Booby candyfloss or black and green works well in the early season. 

Then there is the snake patterns that I was introduced to by a friend.   They works but I feel like a heretic when using it.
